Have I mentioned how much I love my illustration class? This week we spent most of class just working on our poster ideas. When on earth do I ever get 2+ uninterrupted hours of drawing time? It was glorious.
After one-on-one critique with another class member, I decided to go with my favorite thumbnail (a greyhound rescue poster) and sorted out which of my others to try. I started some greyhound drawings; when I finish these, they will be collaged onto a textured background, and then I plan to add the type digitally.
The other piece, which I started in pen and ink, will be finished up in gouache and probably include hand-drawn type. It’s on the topic of food deserts, which affect an estimated 2.3 million people in this country.
